1. Our commitment
We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). We collect only what we need, use it only for the purposes described here, and keep it only as long as necessary.
2. Information you provide to us
- Contact form: your name, email address, subject, and message when you contact us.
- Loan enquiries: if you start a loan application, the information you enter (which may include financial details) is collected by, and submitted to, our third-party application partner to process your request.
3. Information we collect automatically (analytics)
To understand how visitors use the Site and to improve it, we record basic, privacy-minded analytics for each visit. Specifically, we store:
- the pages you view and the order in which you navigate between them;
- how long you spend on each page (time on page);
- the page or website that referred you to us;
- your browser type (user-agent string); and
- a randomly generated session identifier stored in your browser's session storage, used only to group a single visit together.
This session identifier is not linked to your name or identity and is cleared when you close your browser tab. We do not sell this analytics data. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Our analytics uses your browser's session storage rather than long-lived tracking cookies. Essential cookies may be used to operate secure areas of the Site (such as the administrator login). You can control storage and cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect some features.
5. How we use your information
- To respond to your enquiries and provide the information or service you request.
- To connect you with lenders or referral partners when you ask us to.
- To measure and improve the performance, content, and usability of the Site.
- To maintain the security of the Site and prevent misuse.
- To meet legal and regulatory obligations.
6. Sharing your information
We may share your information with third-party lenders or referral partners when you submit an application or enquiry, and with service providers who help us operate the Site (for example, our hosting and database provider). We require these parties to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify. We may also disclose information where required by law.
7. Where your information is stored
Site data, including analytics and contact submissions, is stored using our infrastructure and database providers, whose servers may be located in Canada or other countries. Where information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction.
8. Data retention
We keep contact submissions and analytics records only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to request corrections, and to withdraw consent to certain uses. To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including access controls and encryption in transit, to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Children's privacy
The Site is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be posted on this page.
13. Contact us
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, please reach us through our contact page. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.
